Are you ready to get a neck pain?

From 15 to 22 of November the top eight men’s singles players and doubles teams this year are competing at The O2 Arena. Running for the 7th year in a row, the ATP World Tour Finals will be held in London until 2018.

It is the last tennis tournament of the year before the players get the vacation time they so deserve and desire. The undefeated champion takes $2.22 million home to spend on their vacation. The prize for the one who doesn’t win any single match, it is “only” $167.000.

The current singles champion is Novak Djokovic and the current doubles champions are the Bryan brothers. Djokovic is getting used to raising the trophy. He has been winning since 2012. Before he won three titles consecutively, Roger Federer had twice been the king of ATP World Tour Finals.

Rules

The ATP World Tour Finals is different from the others tournaments in regards to the draw. It has a round-robin format, in which the players are divided in 2 groups of four. Each player plays against all of the other players of his group. As a result, the best 2 of each group go through to the semi-finals. The semi finals follows the same rules as any ATP tournament, whoever wins the match earns their a place to the grand final.

 

How to get there

Tube: North Greenwich station on Jubilee Line. Zones 2 and 3. Takes 30 minutes from Central London.

Bus: The 108, 129, 132, 161, 188, 422, 472, 486 all stop at North Greenwich station.

River Bus: MBNA Thames Clippers River Bus takes 35 minutes from London Eye and London Bridge Piers to The O2.

Emirates Air Line: From Royal Victoria DLR you can take the gondola and get off at The O2.
